Treble Crochet (tr): Yarn over once, insert hook into next two stitches from hook, yarn over and pull through both loops on hook

To begin, chain the desired number of stitches (in this case, 36). Then work in a continuous row (or rounds), beginning with a single crochet in the center of each chain.
After your first round is complete, work 2 sc into the same space as your first stitch. Repeat this pattern until your blanket is the desired size (in this case, 48 squares). To finish off your blanket, tie off each round with a slip knot.
Crochet project instructions for a granny square blanket
If you’re a beginner crocheter, you may be wondering what projects to start with. One of the easiest crochet blankets is a granny square blanket. This project is made up of small squares that are all the same size and shape.
You can make this blanket in any color or pattern that you like. Here are the instructions for a granny square blanket using basic crochet stitches:
1. Start by making a chain foundation circle with whatever length you want your finished blanket to be.

5. Once you’ve completed all your rounds, join each round back together with a sl st. You can now either finish crocheting the blanket in one continuous piece, or break it up into smaller squares and finish each one separately.
