To get started, prepare the yarn and materials needed for the project. Begin by knitting two even rounds of foundation chain (ch = Chain).
Next,join the round with a slip stitch (sl st) into the first ch created. Rounds 3-6: Ch2 (counts as hdc here and throughout), 2hdc in each around; join with sl st into top of beg ch-2. Fasten off yarn.
To make the main body of the bootie, start by sewing together side A of your Bootie Body piece using slip stitches (see photo below). Leave a long tail for later use.
Round 1: Make sc in each st around; join with sl st into first sc made. Fasten off yarn and weave in end.
Next, repeat steps 1-4 to create Round 2 of Bootie Body Piece shown in photo below. Leave a long tail for later use as well (about 18″ long).
Next, start working on Round 3 of Bootie Body Piece as follows: Ch1 (does not count as st here and throughout), sc in first st, 2hdc in next st, *ch2, skip 2 sts, 2hdc in next st; rep from * around; join with sl st into first ch-1. Fasten off yarn and weave in end.
Now it’s time to assemble your Bootie Body Pieces together
Sew Round 1 of Bootie Body Piece to the top of the left side of Round 3 of Bootie Body Piece using a slip stitch (see photo below). Fasten off yarn and weave in end.
Repeat steps 5-6 to sew Round 2 of Bootie Body Piece to the top of the right side of Round 3 of Bootie Body Piece. Fasten off yarn and weave in end.
Finally, sew Round 4 of Bootie Body Piece to the bottom front edge of Round 3 of Bootie Body Piece using a slip stitch (see photo below). Fasten off yarn and weave in end.
Your Converse Baby Booties are now complete!
How to Make a Free Crochet Pattern for Baby Booties from Converse Shoes
Looking for a quick and easy crochet pattern to make baby booties from your favorite pair of Converse shoes? Look no further! This free crochet pattern is perfect for beginners, and it only takes a few minutes to complete.
To start, cut a six-inch length of yarn and tie one end into a knot. Make sure that the yarn is long enough to go around the entire shoe.
Next, insert the crochet hook into the middle of one of the laces on the shoe, and pull up a loop. (Make sure not to twist the yarn when you do this!) Then, yarn over and pull through the previous two loops on the hook.
Do this again, this time making sure that you create two “v” shapes with your loops. You should now have four loops on your hook.

Repeat this process three more times, each time pulling up a new loop before yoinking it back down again. When you’ve finished this section of the pattern, you should have six loops on your hook.
Now it’s time to start crocheting in the round. Begin by inserting your hook into one of the newly created loops (again making sure not to twist), and pull up a loop.
