What are Santa Slippers?
Santa Slippers are the perfect way to keep your feet warm on chilly Christmas mornings. These slippers are easy to crochet and can be made in any size, so they will fit everyone.
The detailed written pattern is included, but it is also available as a free crochet pattern on CrochetMe.com.
To make these slippers, you will need a light weight yarn and a tapestry needle.finished size of these slippers is about 8 inches wide by 9 inches long, but you can make them any size you like.
The Santa Slipper Free Crochet Pattern begins with an adjustable ring and then crochets around it until the foot pouch is complete.
Main body of the Santa Slipper is worked in continuous rounds, starting with a foundation chain that’s just shy of 30 inches long. To create the deep V-shape at the top of the foot pouch, there are three decreases worked into each round; these decreases form the slipper’s base.
From here, it’s just a matter of working in stockinette stitch until the foot pouch is finished and measures about 4 inches wide by 5 inches long from top to bottom (or desired length).
The toe ends are then turned and worked back up along one side of the slipper; this forms the elastic band that ties off at the front of the slipper.
Finally, you can either leave off finishing touches such as a ribbed edge or add a little extra crochet to create a proper “slipper” finish.

Directions for making Santa Slippers
Making Santa Slippers is a fun and easy project that can be completed in no time. All you need are some basic crochet stitches and some felt. The following instructions will show you how to make a pair of Santa Slippers for yourself or as a gift for someone special.
To begin, grab a ball of yarn and follow the instructions below for making a magic ring. If you don’t know how to do this, check out our guide to making a magic ring here.
Once your magic ring has been created, increase one stitch around the loop once (2 stitches). Continue to increase every other stitch around until you have reached the desired size. Be sure to switch colors as you go so that your slippers will look like Santa’s!
Now it’s time to start crocheting! Begin by crocheting 6 sc into the outer loop of your magic ring. Work 2 sc into each remaining stitch around. You’ll now have 36 sc total.
Next, decrease two stitches at a time around the edge of your slipper until you have 24 sts remaining. Crochet these 24 sts together using slip stitch (see photo below). Weave in all ends securely. Your Santa Slippers are now complete!
What to do with Santa Slippers once you’ve made them
If you’ve been able to crochet your way through all of the Christmas sweaters and scarves, it’s time to move on to something a little more fun – Santa Slippers!
These snowman-shaped slippers are super simple to make, featuring just a few rounds of crochet stitches. Plus, they’re sized for just about anyone, so there’s no need to feel left out during the holiday season!
To make your own Santa Slippers, start by crocheting a magic ring. Make 3 sc in the ring, then decrease (2 sc in next st, 1 sc in next 2 sts) around. Finish off and weave in end.
Next, use aSize H hook to crochet two slipper soles. Make an increase round (3 sc in each st around), then join with a slip stitch. Repeat Increase Round three times more.
Now it’s time to add the details! Use black yarn to embroider a Santa hat onto one sole using a single stitch border and darning needle. For the other sole, embroider eyes and a smile using red yarn. Finally, use white yarn to crochet a trim around the edge of each sole using chain stitches (see video tutorial below).
And there you have it – your very own pair of Santa Slippers! Be sure to enjoy wearing them this holiday season – and don’t forget to share photos online with #crochetsofinstagram!
